How to travel between the three Gili Islands
You do not need to return to mainland Lombok to change between Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan. Local shared island-hopping boats and private speedboats are different ways to make these journeys. Choose a shared service when its locally confirmed departure suits your day; choose a private one-way transfer when you need an agreed pickup or are moving accommodation with a group.
Rocksteady lists a private “Between Gili Islands” service covering Air, Meno and Trawangan at IDR 400,000 per boat for up to seven people. It describes a 15-minute trip, but does not publish a distinct time for each pair. Treat that as a general operator estimate, not six guaranteed crossing times. The boat price is for one way, not a return or a day of sightseeing.

Shared island-hopping boats: what is established
Lombok Network describes a shared island-hopping pattern connecting Air, Meno and Trawangan, with morning and afternoon journeys. Its fastboat section also describes intermediate island calls. This establishes the distinction between a through journey and a stop, but does not give us a sufficiently dated primary timetable to promise a particular departure or fare.
At the departure island’s boat ticket office, name the island you are travelling to and ask for that direction’s next service and last practical return. Buy the ticket for the actual journey; if Air to Trawangan involves Meno, establish whether you stay on the same boat. A departure shown for Meno is not your reporting time on Air.
We have not copied the commonly repeated shared fares or clock times here: the source mixes older tariff material with undated schedules. For a day trip, obtain both outward and return details before boarding. If the confirmed shared return leaves too little time, shorten the visit, book a private return or stay overnight.

The Rocksteady listing is a one-way transfer between islands, priced per boat for up to seven people. Two one-way journeys are not automatically a discounted round trip, and a transfer does not buy a boat waiting while you explore. Request a separate quote if you want a return at a set time or several island stops.
The operator’s homepage says pickups before 06:00 or after 18:00 attract an additional IDR 100,000. Agree the exact departure, landing, luggage and final amount before paying. Its mainland base at Teluk Nara is not where you report for an island-to-island pickup: the booking must name the island where you are staying.

For a hotel move, book transport for people and luggage, with a passenger landing on the destination island. Tell the new accommodation which island you are leaving and ask where its staff expect you to arrive. Allow time between checkout, reaching the boat and the next hotel’s check-in rather than treating a short crossing as the entire move.
For a day visit, you can leave your main luggage at your original accommodation if it agrees. Settle the return before heading away from the landing. A three-island snorkeling tour is designed around water stops and an excursion itinerary; it may return to its starting island. It is not a substitute for a confirmed one-way transfer merely because Meno or Trawangan appears in the tour description.

Do not use a short private crossing estimate to create a tight connection with a separately ticketed Bali fast boat. Your transfer boat and Bali ferry have different reporting points and check-in requirements; leave time to land, collect luggage and reach the next operator. For an international flight, moving back to Bali earlier is a different decision from simply changing islands that morning.
