What does a Gili Islands trip cost?
The useful total is your room plus both travel directions, meals, island transport and the activities you will actually take. A low daily allowance can hide the cost of reaching the islands. For two adults staying four nights, the dated example below has IDR 4,700,000 in advertised starting boat fares and selected activity prices before accommodation, food, road transfers, port charges or other extras. It is a partial planning subtotal, not an all-inclusive trip price or a live quote.
Start with the room, not a generic daily average
Get a total for four nights in the room you will share, including any compulsory taxes, service charges, breakfast and cancellation conditions. Divide that room total between two adults; do not charge the whole room rate to each person. Keep Gili Air, Meno and Trawangan quotes for the same dates and occupancy. A west-coast room that requires paid baggage transport and an east-side room near arrival are not identical baskets.
Boat example: published starting prices are not confirmed tickets
Gili Getaway’s route page advertises Serangan to Gili Trawangan or Gili Air from IDR 700,000 per passenger, and the reverse directions from IDR 700,000. At those starting prices, two adults travelling out and back would allocate IDR 2,800,000. The page says exact fares and seats are confirmed when booking; no date-specific seats were checked for this example. Hotel pickup is currently a paid add-on, and the operating carrier can differ. Add any road transfer and separately payable port or shuttle charge to the confirmed fare.

Gili Snorkeling lists its premium small-group trip with a Trawangan meeting point from IDR 500,000 per person, with a maximum of six guests. Two adults therefore start at IDR 1,000,000 for that activity. That meeting point is not an included Air or Meno pickup. Gili Cooking Classes lists its Intro Course at IDR 450,000 per person at its Air and Trawangan locations: IDR 900,000 for two. It lists Four of a Kind at IDR 500,000 and Super Six at IDR 550,000 per person. Choose one class; do not add all three to the same activity basket.

Convert the finished basket into a per-person night cost
Add your four-night room total, food allowance, road transfers, local transport, any harbour or shuttle charges, and all remaining activities to the IDR 4,700,000 partial subtotal. Divide the completed pair total by two for cost per adult, then by four for cost per adult per night. The two chosen activities alone are IDR 1,900,000 for the pair, or IDR 237,500 per adult per night when spread across four nights. That figure is only the activity component; it excludes boats, accommodation and meals.
Where to cut spending without changing the arithmetic
Use one island base to avoid paying for extra passenger crossings and moving bags. Choose a snorkel departure on your own island, or add the real repositioning cost before comparing tour prices. An Air-based visitor should not buy a Trawangan-meeting product because the headline appears cheaper. A cooking class includes the dishes you prepare, so count those as food already provided rather than automatically budgeting a second full meal at the same time. Reduce optional outings before pretending transport or accommodation costs have disappeared.
