Kuta Lombok to Gili: drive north, then take the boat
From Kuta Lombok, travel by road to Bangsal or a specifically booked Teluk Nare jetty, then cross to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air or Gili Meno. Kuta is on Lombok’s south coast; there is no Kuta beach departure for these northwestern islands. This is not the route from Kuta in Bali.
Choose Bangsal if you want to compare shared passenger boats locally. Choose Teluk Nare when a confirmed private boat and car package gives you a particular jetty and meeting time. If you are already staying in Senggigi, a scheduled Gili Getaway sailing to Trawangan or Air is another option; it is not a public shuttle to all three Gilis.

How long does Kuta to Gili take?
Use Green Rinjani’s 2.5–3-hour Kuta–Bangsal road estimate as a planning allowance before adding the boat and its waiting time. Its Teluk Nare/North Lombok category is 2.5–3.5 hours and covers more than one endpoint. Neither is a guaranteed pickup-to-hotel journey time.
Promo Bali gives a much shorter map-style Bangsal/Teluk Nare–Kuta estimate of 1 hour 49 minutes. These are different supplier estimates, not two interchangeable promises. For a fixed boat departure, use the longer allowance until the driver has set a pickup time for your exact Kuta address, harbour and sailing. Leave an arrival-day activity unbooked rather than treating a smooth road run as certain.
The vehicle drops you at a harbour or meeting point, not your island hotel. A Bangsal quote and a Teluk Nare quote must name their own boarding location; telling the driver only “the Gili port” can send you to the wrong service.

The Gili Getaway route tables checked on 25 October 2026 list Senggigi at 11:15 to Trawangan at 11:45 and Air at 12:15, with starting fares of IDR 450,000 on each route. Those are published boat times and starting fares, not a hotel pickup time, fixed quote or seat confirmation. The operator asks passengers to reach the dock at least 30 minutes before departure.
The reverse table lists Trawangan at 12:00 and Air at 12:15 to Senggigi at 13:00, again from IDR 450,000. Do not create a day-trip guarantee by pairing these rows: the page’s loop overview and individual rows are not a complete date-specific boarding instruction.
There is also a seasonal discrepancy. Gili Getaway’s overview says daily, while Signature Scuba’s partner notice says daily in October 2026 but no Fridays or Sundays from 1 November to 31 March. Use the dated booking confirmation for travel in that period, not the daily headline. Meno is absent from this line. If the confirmed service does not work, price the separate road-to-Bangsal/private-jetty and island boat route instead.

Compare the whole price, in the right units
Request the car price per vehicle, its passenger and luggage capacity, the boat price per person or per private boat, and any local charge excluded from the ticket. A low shared-boat fare and a private speedboat quote are not prices for the same service. No current universal Bangsal fare or Kuta car tariff is asserted here.
Promo Bali describes its regular cars for one to four people with standard luggage and recommends a bigger vehicle for large suitcases or groups. Surfboards need an explicit arrangement: Gili Getaway separately lists IDR 100,000 for a single-board bag or IDR 200,000 for a multi-board bag per journey. Those are its boat surcharges, not a Lombok-wide rule or proof that a board fits the car.
For the return, agree where the driver waits if the boat is delayed and whether waiting changes the price. A road booking alone does not protect an independently bought boat or flight. If your next booking is an inflexible flight, returning to the mainland the previous day removes one same-day dependency but cannot guarantee travel through prolonged disruption.

Kuta → Bangsal → your chosen Gili works as a transfer day; you do not have to spend a night in Senggigi first. Add Senggigi because you want west-coast time, not because every Gili journey requires it. Conversely, staying in Senggigi does not require buying a long-distance fast-boat ticket if a road-and-local-boat arrangement better fits your island and departure date.
Sekotong and Gili Gede belong to southwest Lombok, not the Bangsal trio. Keep that extension separate from a Trawangan/Air/Meno booking. For a complete holiday rather than a single transfer, use the seven- and ten-day Lombok itinerary with its actual overnight allocations.
